Privacy Policy

Effective February 27, 2012

This is a privacy policy for Magnetic Media Online, Inc. (“Magnetic”, “we’, or “us”).  Our homepage on the Web is located at https://magnetic.is. The full text of our privacy policy is available on the Web at http://privacy.magnetic.is/.

PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
Magnetic does collect personally identifiable information from the magnetic.is website when you choose to provide it through the contact form or our client interface. We use this information only to contact you in reference to an inquiry or manage our business relationship with you.

NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
Magnetic collects non-personally identifiable information (i.e., anonymous data that cannot by itself be used to identify a particular person or entity) for targeting purposes from keywords entered by users in searches on one of our third-party partners’ Web pages. We receive the full text of user-entered searches on our third-party partners’ Web pages, and we use keywords collected from those searches to infer a user’s interests.  We use these keywords and inferred interests to indicate whether an anonymous consumer using a Web browser fits within one or more specified groups, or “segments,” of users.  The segments we seek to match from user searches may be chosen by our customers or may be chosen by us.  Segments created by our customers are defined by those customers’ desired criteria, and may include various segments, including those defined by health-related information, except that we do not permit customers to create segments that require us to associate sensitive consumer information (as defined below) with a user.  The segments defined by us, which we refer to as “standard segments” in this privacy policy, may include various criteria at any given time, including, but not limited to, health-related data.  For example, our standard segments that we offer to customers may include one or more of the following health-related segments:  (i) interest in health insurance; (ii) health/fitness conscious; (iii) dieting; (iv) Medicare users; and (v) smokers.

Magnetic shows as well as enables third parties to show on-line advertisements targeted at the keywords and the standard segments and customer-defined segments that we are using at any given time. When we enable third parties to show on-line advertisements targeted to keywords and segments, we disclose (anonymously) a user having searched for a keyword, or falling within a segment, to our third-party partner.  Our third-party partners include website publishers, advertising networks, advertising exchange buyers, demand-side platforms, advertisers and their agencies. Such third parties may be based outside the US and may use cookies, web beacons, or other technologies.

We do not use Flash cookies or Local Storage Objects. The only kind of cookies we use are standard browser cookies that are easily visible & manageable in your browser. For information on how to opt-in or opt-out of use of your information by Magnetic, see the “Opt Out” section of this privacy policy below.
