Software Engineer – Buffalo, NY
Magnetic is the leader in search retargeting, using what people search for to target what display ads they see anywhere on the Internet. Our product holds the dominant position in the market space, and we are growing.
Our engineering team is building and deploying lean, high-performance we applications, and working to massively scale our server platform. The technology stack includes node.js, MongoDB, Ruby, Rails, Hadoop, PHP, and MySQL (among others).
We have immediate, permanent, full-time positions available at our office in Buffalo. We are looking for candidates who have experience pushing performance-sensitive code into high-volume production environments, who are passionate about their practice and the quality of their work, and who want the opportunity to continuously expand their skills and exercise their creativity. Strongly Preferred Skills/ Experience:
- Professional software development experience
- Computer Science degree
- Deep experience in one or more of the languages mentioned above (and readiness to be trained in the rest)
- Candidates with deep experience in other languages who meet our requirements will also be considered
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Developer or operations experience with online advertising systems, or other real-time or low-latency systems
- Experience developing in Hadoop and /or other distributed data processing platforms
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Experience with continuous integration process and tools
